Workshop: Teaching Emotional Regulation as a Part of Executive Functioning
Workshop: Teaching Emotional Regulation as a Part of Executive Functioning
Wednesday, May 28th
12:00-1:00pm EST
For many autistic children, emotional regulation is one of the hardest skills to develop—and one of the most misunderstood. This workshop is here to change that.
When a child melts down, lashes out, or shuts down, it’s not “bad behavior.” It’s often a sign of emotional overload and underdeveloped executive functioning skills.
In this workshop, caregivers will learn how to:
🔹 Recognize the signs of emotional dysregulation
🔹 Build a calm-down toolbox tailored to your child
🔹 Use visuals like emotion thermometers & Zones of Regulation
🔹 Teach coping strategies before a meltdown happens
🔹 Co-regulate to support your child in moments of big emotions
🔹 Reinforce self-regulation attempts—no matter how small
💡 Because emotional regulation isn’t something kids “just know”—it’s something they learn with support.
📅 Join us to gain tools, confidence, and a deeper understanding of how to help your child feel safe, seen, and regulated—even on the hard days.
Emotional regulation is a journey—and you don’t have to walk it alone.
✨ Let’s build skills, not just manage behaviors!
