My Story: From Overwhelmed Mom to Empowered Advocate

I’m not a corporation. I’m not a clinic.
I’m a mom — just like you — who has cried in the car after being told “You’re on another waitlist.”

The summer before my daughter started kindergarten, we received her autism diagnosis. I remember sitting in my car afterward, both relieved and terrified. Relieved to finally have a name for what we were seeing. Terrified because I had no idea what came next.

I spent months searching for help and support. Calling agencies. Leaving messages. Getting stuck in systems. Waiting on evaluations that took forever.
And in the meantime, my little girl was struggling — running down the street, melting down at school, and unable to regulate because we didn’t yet have the right strategies or tools to help her.

So I did what every determined parent does when no one else has the answers —
I rolled up my sleeves and got to work.
